Founded in 1988 by Carlos Correia, a Portuguese native, in the heart of the Ironbound Section of Newark, NJ. PSS has expanded to a multi-generation family business providing both industrial and residential structural steel needs. When Carlos opened the doors to PSS in 1988, he brought with him over 20 years of experience and an extensive background knowledge of both steel fabrication and installation. 

The company’s objective was to service and provide the local community with small improvements such as railings, platforms, and stairs. As the years passed, the projects became larger and so did the demographics of the new projects. In 1991, Carlos’ daughter, Paula Cabral, joined the business on a full-time basis. Paula was a recent college graduate majoring in business management. She became involved in negotiations and customer service.
